Fable 3 also has coop, I think it lets you bring in your own customisable character rather than just an anonymous henchman. I enjoyed playing 2 and 3 with my stepdaughter, it's good because it doesn't require too much hand eye coordination.

It's only Fable 2 that crashes. Sometimes I'm able to play up to 5 minutes and other times I can't even get passed the 360 intro screen or even load the game. Sometimes it freezes and I'm able to go to the menu and other times the entire system crashes and it restarts on it's own. To be completely honest I only got an xbox to be able to play
To circumvent this mishap, just make sure you have created a few new hero saves on either your main gamertag (P1) OR the dummy account (P2) beforehand so when you log into both accounts simultaneously, there is no chance they will be overlapping save slots e.g. P1's current selected hero is on save slot 1, while P2 is on save slot 4. 3.
Player 1 will be the main character/Xbox profile. When player 1 boots up and has player 2 join, it will more than likely be a copy of player 1s character. Yo fix this have player 2 drop out and save. Once they are out have player one save and go to the data section in the keep and choose new game..you will lose all save data for player 1 and be Trying to play fable 2 with a friend. I have pc gamepass and he has a series X, I'm trying to see if it's possible to play together this way or do I absolutely have to buy an xbox. It is if you play it on Xcloud. However, I wouldn't recommend fable 2 co-op to my worst enemy as it is an insufferable experience. As others have said, 2 and 3 are where coop was introduced. Fable 3 *does* have a PC port that was on Steam at one point but has since been removed, afaik the only way to get a Steam copy of Fable 3 is to look around for a CDKey for it. Alternatively, get an Xbox 360 or Xbox One and play the games on there.
Fable 2 doesn't do that. Instead, it manages to pull off the mythical feat of existing in a convincingly multi-faceted world where dark and adult things happen without ruling the entire tone.
