I have been looking around for a used original copy on eBay and they can still command some considerable money, so I figure if you did splash out your hard earned notes at the dealers and keep the receipt, you might still be be able to sell it on at a later date

Having problems with the sat nav, it lets you load all the address, then lets start to plan, says your route is being calculated and then freezes, any ideas anyone. Does it need a sd card as both slots are empty.
Welcome to the forum. I personally wouldn't bother with the SD card, after having the same consideration when I bought my latest Audi. I plug my phone in ti the USB port and use the Android Auto (or Apple Play) which allows Google Maps. If you really want to use the factory Nav, buy the latest card your budget will allow.
Audi dealers can only install the Sat. Nav. software if you have the double sd card radio which is sat nav ready model if it only has the one slot then no . DON'T PANIC!! It just means that the navigation is not guiding you to a destination. Hence the "not active" message. Select some destination, start the route, and once it's calculated, hit the Nav/info button. You hear the difference.
