I stuck the battery back in and she fired up and ran for maybe a minute and then died. I then did a little research here and found that the 90 bhp mk3 doesn't
1. Weak Battery If your Mondeo’s engine won’t crank or cranks very slowly, then the most likely culprit is a weak or dead 12v battery. Investigating more closely and doing a battery voltage test will clarify whether the starting problem is due to the battery.
Mondeo mk4 cutout, now won't start 2.0tdci. Over took a car and mine cut out with the 'engine malfunction' message appearing. Got recovered, put my code reader on, but no codes to display. If you have the 12v at that wire the solenoid is the most likely fault. If you don't have 12v at the small wire, you need to get a wiring diagram for the truck. You then have to follow the circuit back to find out where you do have 12v and where it stops. It could be a relay, the ignition switch or any wire in between.

ford mondeo - Another dodgy mondeo tdci, wont start. I just took a 2003 Mondeo tdci, 130bhp model in p/ex. It came as a non runner (kind of) with 2 sets of injectors and 2 HP fuel pumps. the car would tow off and run fairly smooth at low revs, anything over 2500 rpm and it would cut out and need towing / bumping again.
