There are, however, three areas where I find it lacking: (1) Firstly, the lens suffers from massive chromatic aberrations.
Overall, the XF 33mm f/1.4 stands out as the best balance of image quality, size, and aperture for X-T5 shooters wanting a versatile prime. The 35mm f/1.4 is an excellent but pricier choice. The Sigma and XF 35mm f/2 offer cheaper lightweight options. Lens. Weight.
The compact Fuji XF 50mm f/2 WR lens is a nifty little portrait prime for the X Series system. For one thing, it fills a noticeable gap in Fuji's lens lineup: the affordable 50mm (75mm eq.) prime
The Fujifilm 50mm f/2 was released in January 2017 and falls within the range of small, fast, weather sealed lenses that Fujifilm offer; the others being the 16mm f/2.8, 23mm f/2 and the 35mm f/2. I bought into the Fujifilm system back in December 2016 following which I spent many months pondering the best lens setup for travelling Australia.
The 56mm has the classic field of view of an 85mm lens on a full frame camera, while the 50mm is a bit shorter. The biggest difference optically is in terms of speed. The 56mm f/1.2 is a full 1-1/3 stops faster, allowing for using a lower ISO. When considering price, the newer f/2 lens comes in at less than half the cost: $449 US for the 50mm f
Using my new Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN on my Fujifilm X-T5 and X-T3. At 50mm in A mode, the cameras select the same shutter speed at f/4.0 and f/2.8, despite displaying f/2.8 and using the lens at
Again, if shooting portraits is your thing, the 56mm might be preferable in this regard. Sigma lenses in general are modern lens designs, and tend to deliver sharp images with rich colors and high contrast. The C (Contemporary lenses) aren't as sharp as Sigma's legendary Art lenses, but they still deliver nice crisp images.
Both the sigma and tamron are sharper than even the 16 to 55 2.8, let alone 18 to 55. That said, OIS is more useful and 18 to 55 is one of the best fuji lens for video due to less exposure stepping and focus problems. A gimbal is a necessity regardless for truly smooth video work. u/sahubhaina. 3.
